Browning Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsps brown sugar

Instructions

  • In a large pot, add brown sugar to a dry pan.
  • Turn your heat to low and start mixing your sugar as it melts.
  • Consistently stir the sugar until it dissolves and becomes smooth. The brown sugar may form lumps, but keep stirring.
  • After about 10 minutes, your sauce should be smooth and have a dark brown color. Then, add hot water and turn off the heat.
  • Add salt and brown sugar, mix well, and allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.
