Tips for making the perfect Sweet Teriyaki Chicken Skewers

Slice your chicken thin- The key to keeping the chicken juicy is slicing it super thick so you can keep it stuffed it on the skewer. Use a sharp knife and cut your chicken into thin slices! 

Broil your skewers- If you want the perfect glaze on your skewers you’ll need to cook them at a high temperature so that they cartelize! Broil your skewers as the final step, or, turn your oven on to the highest setting!

Equipment

Ingredients 

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs (or breasts) sliced thin

For the chicken marinade

  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsps minced ginger
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsps light brown sugar

For the Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsps light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions 

  1. Slice your chicken thighs thin, and then marinate your chicken in your the chicken marinade for one hour or up to overnight
  2. Add your chicken pieces to the skewer.
  3. Cook chicken skewers at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. While your chicken is cooking, add all of your sauce ingredients to a small pan and simmer. Then, brush your chicken with some of your sauce.
  4. Cook for another 10 minutes, and bask again before broiling.
  5. Brush with the remaining sauce and serve hot.
