Popeyes fries are the best! Unfortunately, when looking for a recipe to follow, there were few to reference, so it took a lot of trial and error! 

What make’s Popeyes fries unique is their light crusty batter which makes them super crispy and crunchy! I also love the flavor in these fries; they are unmatched.

I haven’t tried using the air fryer for this recipe, but because there is a thick batter, I recommend using an oven if you want to skip the frying!

Ingredients You’ll Need for Popeyes Fries

  • Potatoes
  • Corn Starch
  • Flour
  • Selzter Water, or Club Soda
  • Oil for frying
  • Seasonings

Ingredients 

  • 3 large potatoes Russet or Idaho
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 2 cups seltzer water or club soda
  • 2 tbsps corn starch

Mix Spices (Cut in Half)

Secret sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions 

  1. Begin by peeling potatoes and slicing into thin strips.
  2. Rinse potatoes with warm water until water runs clear.
  3. Pat potatoes dry, set aside.
  4. Mix all seasonings together, and separate seasoning into two parts.
  5. Mix flour, corn starch, and 1/2 your seasonings mix. Then, slowly whisk in the seltzer water until a thick batter develops.
  6. Dip fries into batter and begin frying at 375 degrees in small batches until fries are golden brown.
  7. Season with other part of the seasoning mixture.
  8. Serve with sauce
